Question 1

Is Decalingo really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The whole course is free and lasts forever: six levels (A1 to C2) in the language you choose, 126 units, 1,452 words and 324 verbs with full conjugation tables and drills, at a pace of 3 course steps a day (5 on your first day), plus unlimited vocabulary saving, flashcards, spaced-repetition review, word lists and daily streaks. It also includes one custom lesson so you can try it. Upgrade when you want 100 custom lessons a month from your own videos and articles, all ten languages, or the course with no daily limit.

Question 2

How does it turn a YouTube video into a lesson?

Accepted Answer

Paste any YouTube link and Decalingo extracts the key vocabulary, phrases and grammar from the video, then builds interactive exercises from them in seconds. The new words go straight into your personal library.

Question 3

What levels does it work for?

Accepted Answer

Six levels (A1 to C2), from absolute beginner to advanced. Lessons and suggestions adapt to the level you set, and you can change it any time.

Question 4

Do I have to find my own content?

Accepted Answer

You can, and that is the magic, because you learn from videos and books you actually enjoy. But you do not have to: the free course teaches from day one, and Lessons has starter lessons and ideas you can open right away.

Question 5

How is this different from Duolingo or Anki?

Accepted Answer

Instead of a fixed course or flashcards you build by hand, Decalingo creates exercises from your own words and the real content you choose. You practise the language you actually want to use, not a generic word list someone else picked.

Question 6

Can I use it on my phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Decalingo works on any device through your browser and installs to your home screen like an app, so you can learn anywhere. Native app versions are on the way.

Question 7

Can I cancel any time?

Accepted Answer

Any time, in a couple of clicks. And if you stop, you keep the free plan forever, with your vocabulary and progress exactly where you left them.
